Retreat
To some extent we have always felt foreign to today's society, what more proof that there is something wrong with it. The air is clear about it today, we should agree. For some a temporary retreat is enough, that's why we go into nature for rest. Then we go back into the system, the city, we still are bonded (and bondaged) to the belief that it's the only place where we could make a living and eat. Yet food comes from nature, and everything else. A definitive retreat to a place where we don't need to escape from, should be the first goal we set out to achieve. Today you'll probably be resting even from these readings. That's how I'x is, silent, occult, yet in peace.

To the fine tuning of our homes, our grounding structures, beliefs and families, this transformational Ak'ab'al trecena has come. Through great or little change, the foundations of our self have been shuffled and accommodated to provide increased solidity. We are at the cusp of this process ready to transcend and receive our vision for the flight we must take on. We have learned and are taught by today's nawal about the skill of charm, of knowing our worth, our strengths; all teachings sum to today's completion of a silent hidden power. Knowing to not say, not speak, to harness your emotions as a source for cunning action, are some of the learning that is brought together by today's nawal. Everything that has happened to us, good or bad, is parting from today, a fiercely sharp claw in our arsenal, ready for use. If you have it in you, if you can harness today's nawal, you will be able to go about skimming situations with the softness of a cat's paw, without having to draw your weapons. They are there, if must used, but just their existence is enough; if you can learn to harness today's power, you won't need to use them. The exterior visible world is bound by the interior invisible one. We don't need to childishly cry our inner visions so that they manifest in the outer, this is the recipe for spillage. Fear will be out in the hunt, and if you fall prey to it, you will miss the charm of a much better, cunning action.
To those not in this circle of medicine training, it may be observed that their intentions and actions are valuable and good intentioned, but clumsily played out. This will look like they are not valuable, not good and that they are bad intentioned, acting from dishonesty. Let's not judge them like that. What happens is that they are not up to date to the evolution of the feminine prowess required by the pulsations of time. Let's hope we are, surfing on the wave of time instead of letting it whirlpool us in the sand.

Having gone without—and learning to dwell within that state—opens a sanctuary of peace that today's nawal invites us to explore. Retreat into your quiet center, create a wider space for tranquility, and release the grip of rigid routines, schedules, and expectations. When this feminine, feline space is unlocked, we allow an innate part of ourselves to emerge—something long hidden beneath the surface of anxiety, mental noise, and habituated behavior.
Twelve Ix teaches us that a battle can be won through strategic retreat. We avoid becoming victims to conflict simply by remaining silent and stepping back from fruitless arguments, realizing there is always a space beyond, behind, and beneath what seems to be an inescapable crisis. This quiet sanctuary is rarely celebrated by the world; society often mislabels it as cowardice, avoidance, or fear—and at times, it can be. Yet, when chosen strategically and framed within a larger cosmic perspective, it remains untouched by such projected negativity.
A great melody relies on silence. Guided by today's nawal, we learn to achieve a new level of musicality in our lives, mastering the rests between the notes. In the hunt, the Jaguar does not endlessly chase its prey; it remains still, waiting with absolute composure for the target to make a misstep. This mastery demands profound patience—without it, you will remain hungry.
I'x (Jaguar/Feminine) represents the Jaguar spirit, sacred feminine energy, Earth Mother consciousness, stealth, high intuition, and the quiet power that moves unseen in the dark. Ix is the nawal of natural altars, deep contemplation, vital force, and the ancient magic embedded within nature. Paired with the expansive, synthesizing energy of the Number 12—the frequency of accumulated wisdom, reflection, holistic understanding, and the culmination of life experiences—this sign brings the maturity needed to integrate silence into strategic action.
To embody 12 Ix is to honor the wisdom of silence and trust the power of patient stillness. Occupying the twelfth position of the Ak'ab'al trecena, this energy asks you to step back from unnecessary battles and retreat into your inner sanctuary. Do not mistake quietude for weakness; true strength lies in knowing when to conserve your energy and wait for the precise moment to act. Release expectations, cultivate deep patience, and allow the quiet magic of the Jaguar to guide your steps.
Peace.
