The idea of a flat 2-d space is convenient and practical and exists within the realm of our craft, when we use maps and measure distances, create furniture or make blueprints. It is also the dimension of code and computers, to an extent. But in the real world, on earth and out in space, if we extend a line beyond our sight, it will curve. In this 2-d sense, the line is not straight.
Just like there are no straight lines in the universe, there are no straight stories. Research has shown that what we think is a flawless memory, is in fact a predictive brain willing to fill in the blank spots when the actual memory is not found, or where the focus is on making the memory fit into the story. As we cruise along the ramp of time, what is left behind is truly left behind, it comes to exist only within the realm of imagination.
Animals can recognize a holy man. Honesty is not then measured from how apparently straight the story is told from a 2-d space. What makes a man true and real, is how straight he tries to be. The universe is like this, as much as we like to project the machine-chronos mentality onto it, thinking the stars are a precise clockwork for the psique or that there are quantum formulas of creation that can be expressed by lineal math, the universe is alive and conscious, and is constantly adjusting its bearing and composition, learning with us as we discover it. Today's nawal would even like to disentangle himself from being the representative of the artifice of 2-d thinking and state: I am something else.
With today's energy we must recognize the extent to which creation is just a game, as in it is our illusion to think it is all that solid and rigid. Seeing the liquid nature of reality and the principle that if it's not fun it doesn't make sense, doesn't mean we must go crooked, or that being twisted is more advantageous. That is a manufactured idea that time will mature and disintegrate, and we will ask today's nawal to do so. In the long run we will discover that the more straight we try to be, the quicker and more complete we will get there, and the more fun we will have.
It's not about planning for later, it's about aligning yourself now.
