Perceived value.
Everything in a way is economic. There is a tool in our minds and the mind of the organic living where actions, resources, time and energy are valued and budgeted. It can seem insensitive, but we can deduce everything into a value we assign it. It's not insensitive, it's just that we need to expand our vision to what things we assign value to, improve our understanding of what is valuable and modify what we choose to invest in. Everything is perception. As we perceive differently, reality changes. Today's nawal invites us to mutate, modulate, transform, protect and concrete our value systems. Do you think what you are doing now is providing you with the most valuable experience for you in your life?
To increase and improve our economy in this sense, we need to learn to purge and deconstruct the misconceptions we've acquired about what is valuable, worth it and even what is real, realizable and pragmatic. One idea for example is the consistency of continuing to read these readings. Today's reading wouldn't be worth as much if we didn't know about yesterday's, where we learned that human contact and being valued in a group is an essential part of our wellbeing. Here's where we really need to look a hundred times at the lifestyle and system we are living under right now, that has fragmented human contact and has given us shiny lights and spooky stories in exchange for the profound love and connection we yearn for.
Make an agenda and set a new planner for your life today. Make sure you give continuance to what you have been seeding lately, and what you know is really valuable for you. Don't let entertainment, distraction and suffering suck you back. These writings, website and the activities I caretake exist because of you. I will continue to water them, but make sure you continue to grow. Assign energy and budget to protect this and everything that accompanies the expansion of your consciousness, perception and experience, for we will be facing the attacks of the continuation of a decaying Technosphere struggling to survive and to push though its un sustainable agenda. Many things outside won't be getting better. If you are able to keep this light going, then you will get better, but only if you can be patient, constant, loyal and you continue to grow as you have. As the toxicity of the surrounding imposed overworld accelerates, so must your growth, it's the only way to balance it. So many more things we are to learn in the coming last days of the passing of the Zuvuya and the Imox trecena.

The nawal of today awakens clues that are divinatory, kind of occult, there's a feeling that I shouldn't share them for how valuable they are, and that they may be misused or misunderstood. There is a potential value about to burst into existence, and if you are here I ask that you bear witness. The most valuable stores are to be kept underground. If you expose them to the light, you risk them dying and you risk them being wiped out. We are to enter a period where the seeds of the future will be kept for now small, hidden and unknown. If you see someone or something exploding into success, as far as views and followers in platforms, then be sure they have paid their fees and that nothing really is in store, they are just the resellers of the true value they expose. The more hidden someone or something remains, the more the way they truly are.
Logic and artificial intelligence will prove, that by itself, without sentience and metaphysical connection, knows nothing and creates nothing, in fact it's the worse advisor you could go to. Use it as a glorified calculator, but make no decisions based on what it tells you, it will lead you wrong. Or please do so, make the mistake and prove my point, help me reveal this sense shared by today's nawal: the sense of measure.
The valuable reveal the nawal has for you is that in great excess comes great success. This means (not success in getting views on social media) that to get somewhere you always have to put in a little more effort than what is balanced. You must learn to lean into imbalance in some sort of way in order for something to eventually —if consistency and patience are present— succeed. Going by yesterday's nawal's terms will get you in a good state of health, but if you want to shine and lay your seeds outside of yourself, then you must learn to lean in to some sort of "excess".
The sense of measure that today's nawal then represents comes in knowing how much and what kind of excess you invest in. You go out to the party to meet people and make connections, you drink to enjoy yourself, keep the mouth wet and loosen the tongue, but if you go out to the party just because you must keep your quota of excess, if it's just a mindless habit, then you have no sense of measure. The bright tlawiskalpantekotli, lord of the morning star, leans strongly on the darkness he is leaving behind to shine the way of light.

Perfection is simple. Life is complex, and thus imperfect, yet it continually cycles back to a basic simplicity that renders it complete—grounded in the fundamental circle, devoid of sharp corners. Today's nawal encodes the ultimate master code that speaks of the beauty and perfection of rounding up to a simple, basic circle. Like in music, harmony and melody—the very sound that makes us feel whole—are achieved only by remaining within the tight boundaries of sacred chords, where a tune cannot wander too far from the root before returning home if the piece is to sound complete. Light and electromagnetism behave in this exact same way: a wave function perpetually returning to its axis.
Following these sacred geometries, compartmentalized chemistry develops the endless diversity of life we experience, shaping even the quantum entanglement lattice that can bend time, space, the cosmos, and cosmic laws so that they serve the best interest of the gestating living being we are creating. We feel the world is impossibly vast and the cosmos infinitely immense, believing we cannot fathom its inner and outer workings simply because our minds have been artificially split into a binary, conflict-driven false dichotomy—a worldview that traps our awareness in an artificial, parasitic dimension.
For this illusion to persist, our bodies—not merely the physical vessel, but the energetic bodies as well—must be systematically drained of their force, leaving us grasping for truth while completely unable to digest what is remarkably basic, even when handed to us predigested. Toltec teachers spoke relentlessly about this recovery of energy, because without it, no true understanding can ever be reached; the basic code of existence simply cannot be swallowed or integrated.
Yet, as today's nawal teaches, this code is not elusive due to immensity or complexity. It is built upon the most simple and basic of all matrices: 8x8. Out of this grid sprout all the dimensions that measure the principles that subsequently incarnate across all experiential realms. They all resolve back into a simple circle, a single spot of awareness, the assemblage point of our being. Because we are currently fractured from our essence, we walk this earth on a quest to find the path that leads back to our integral self. This return is accomplished through true understanding, which can only be achieved through the deliberate retrieval of lost and stolen vital energy trapped in the virtual, conflict-driven illusions built by the unexamined mind.
The Seed / Maize / Fertility / Regeneration (Wajxaqib' Q'anil) represents the sacred seed, agricultural abundance, divine design, biological potential, and the continuous cycle of planting, sprouting, and harvesting. It is the nawal of regeneration, organic perfection, clear intention, and the realization of long-gestated work. In its eighth position (Wajxaqib'), it represents the fundamental harmonic scale, the peak of balance, the cosmic weaver's loom, and the complete 8x8 matrix—acting as the central octave and balancing point that weaves the physical and spiritual realms into an unbreakable whole.
To embody Eight Q'anil is to recognize that the ultimate harvest of your life requires no artificial complexity—only clean, undivided vital energy. It demands that you call back your scattered force from past conflicts and mental illusions so that the seed within you can sprout according to its sacred blueprint. At this eighth, octave station of the trecena, Q'anil takes the entity gestating through this cycle—conceived in Imox, voiced in Ik', tested in Ak'ab'al, structured in K'at, vitalized in K'an, given spirit in Keme, and grounded by Kej—and plants it into the fertile soil of the simple, basic matrix. It reminds us that true mastery is not found in intellectual complication, but in gathering our vital energy back into the quiet, perfect circle of our true being.

In the Codex Borgia (Plate 9), as well as parallel manuscripts of the Borgia Group (Codex Vaticanus B and Codex Cospi), the patron deity who governs the 8th day sign, Tochtli (Rabbit / corresponding to Q'anil in the Maya Cholq'ij), is Mayahuel, the sacred goddess of the maguey (agave) plant, biological abundance, intoxication, and the life-giving sap necutli (pulque / octli).
1. Visual Depiction in Codex Borgia (Plate 9)
In Plate 9 of the Codex Borgia, where the 20 day signs are arrayed in sequence alongside their governing divinities, Mayahuel sits in state directly over Tochtli:
Emerging from the Maguey: Mayahuel is depicted seated upon or emerging directly from the heart of a flowering maguey agave plant (metl), underscoring her identity as the living soul of the botanical world.
Iconographic Identifiers: She is painted in pale, milky white hues or yellow earth tones, wearing a nose-pendant shaped like a crescent moon (yacametztli)—a emblem shared with lunar and fertility divinities.
Flowing Pulque: She holds or is surrounded by vessels spilling white, foaming octli (pulque), adorned with foam-crowns and rubber balls, symbolizing the intoxicating, generative nectar of the earth.
2. Overview of Tochtli and Mayahuel
Tochtli (The Rabbit): The Sign Dynamics
Sign Number: 8th Day Sign of the 260-day Tonalpohualli (corresponding to Q'anil in the Maya calendar).
Symbolism: The rabbit represents rapid proliferation, fertility, abundance, lunar cycles, playfulness, and the innocent, uninhibited drive to reproduce and sprout.
The Moon & The Rabbit: In Mesoamerican lore, the face of the moon carries the silhouette of a rabbit (placed there when the gods struck the second sun with a hare). Tochtli is fundamentally a lunar, biological sign governing growth, fermentation, and cyclic return.
The 400 Rabbits (Centzon Totochtin): Tochtli is tied to the Centzon Totochtin, the infinite "400 Rabbits"—the divine deities of pulque, drunkenness, rhythm, and the varied states of ecstasy and altered consciousness.
Mayahuel (She of the Maguey): The Governing Deity
Mayahuel is the divine mother of nourishment, botanical resilience, and sacred ecstasy:
The Gift of Sustenance & Warmth: The maguey plant provided everything required for survival in Central Mexico: fibers for clothing (ixtle), thorns for needles, sap for sweetness and medicine, and fermented drink for ritual celebration and warmth.
Sacred Intoxication & Ecstasy: Mayahuel governs the transformation of raw plant liquid into foaming pulque. This transformation is a metaphor for spiritual fermentation—the breaking down of rigid ego structures to enter communion with the divine and dissolve conflict.
The Lunar Octave: Like the moon, Mayahuel's energy waxes and wanes through cycles of planting, fermentation, harvesting, and renewal.
