Change.
Pleasure is more dangerous than suffering, when we are unable to regulate it with a higher power. This higher power can be economic limitation, a belief, or the physical limitation of having a body. We might think the animal body, the snake, is without spirit, without the breath of another intelligence, but this is wrong. In this idea laws and policing are necessary because our higher ancestral spirit is being replaced by the lower spirit of the emptiness and the nothing. Confusing spirituality with morality we barf out judgment and this is what hurts us and others. We are made from the spirit, every molecule and cell, individual and community, is a conglomeration of spirit, memory and consciousness. If we are let be, as we learned yesterday, allow our pleasure to run loose without the intervention of our policing or morale, then the higher power will take over and regulate us.
It may very well be death, as it's today, and it's okay. Fear is not, cannot be the basis of a decision ever. If we are afraid of death, we are afraid of life. Knowing most of you are guided by the true ancient spirit, then I know, you know you are protected, and the death of your body won't be what strikes you. Instead it will be a divine inspiration that will show you how to change something in your life. Big or small, by making this change, unseen consequences follow, as spirit is rearranging things for you, beyond what you can perceive or expect. Now we have learned by experience, and we have had the experience, lived the pleasure and rest in peace. How pleasurable would sex be if the orgasm didn't come to free you from that desire. Life is not without death, what expands and is cannot be without the space that it's filling, both the space and the thing are the energy.
Allow yourself to live a change. My change, which will rearrange everything in my life right now, is that I will do this reading before the sun rises of the day of the reading. With this something that was wrong, dies. I am in peace now because I know this reading will be available for you all throughout the day. Pleasure can be a nuisance as seen from the peace of today's combination. The body speaks strongly the spirit of our ancestors who shout: stop policing yourself and others, that is not the way to make justice, let justice come from within, by choice, it's the only way.

Today connects us to the need to heal violence on planet earth. Yesterday's desire was maybe met with the cold of rejection or of unavailability. With the unmet desire appears reaction, and when this is not a first and rather a trend, reaction scales to violence. Reaction is the natural wiring of the snake, the body, the autonomous nervous system which is vital and crucial to sustain us as living beings. We are to intervene reaction not judging it but cutting it off, killing it, bringing the light of the mind coming from spirit.
It is the ancestors that are speaking and intervening. If we allow this connection to be made, then the wise elders that are not organically alive but are present will be able to stop us in our reactions and transform that wiring into something else, something wiser, more loving and more conscious. Wired to us, part of our reactive body, is the body of our recent ancestors, our deceased parents or grandparents. Whatever was left unsolved in them will seek to resolve in you. There is no path than to move forward, allow this, accept it and be patient, it will take years.
Taken to the global and today in age scale, the nawal has a word about desires not being met and peace not being found: it is not the moment. No matter how great things get for you, they are not great for many around the earth, and this is growing and exploding. We are coming to a great turn around, and while that happens, unease, anxiety and unwellness will be more present. With more reason you will seek peace and balance and health, but don't let this dig yourself into a weak spot, staying exposed to what occurs, to the energies of the underworld that are now taking over the overworld, is a necessary evil to not get spooked out of existence when you least expect it.

The life that comes after life—what we ultimately embody—is change. Embodying a pleasurable life leads to enlightened passion and concentrated richness. This can construct a millennial temple that charges life and gives direction to the planet, or it can destroy the planet, life, and you. No outcome of the pursuit of pleasure and the embodiment of life leads to anything other than change. Death is the single absolute guarantee.
Being conscious of this does not mean abandoning the pursuit of pleasure, nor does it imply wandering without orientation simply because we are destined for death. It means that we are called to embody something far greater: spirit, the lucid awareness that originates from the afterlife. This is not a mere belief system; it is the very foundation of the consciousness you occupy to read this right now and that I occupy to craft it. It is the invisible thread that merges all lives and all beings into a greater living entity—one that is not bound by fleeting cycles or mortal flesh.
Embodying this spirit today is the invitation—recognizing that the driving force behind what we pursue is a pleasure that dies. That is to say, we seek pleasure precisely because we seek to be liberated from it: just as reaching an orgasm frees us from the torment of desire, the fulfillment of pleasure grants release. That is the ultimate goal. It is not accomplished by denying ourselves pleasure; on the contrary, it is achieved by experiencing it fully and directly.
The gestating being we are to birth during this trecena receives its spirit today—the spirit of our ancestors and the healing of our lineage. This means we embody the exact message delivered from beyond: we are given a clear goal, which is to resolve the conflict that toxifies and vilifies human vitality and the entire life experience. With change as our only unavoidable destiny, there is no other work than to solve what needs solving. This demands that we transform our current reason based on passion—where we passionately defend our dogmas and beliefs, the source of all conflict in this world—and shift into a reason based on spiritual clarity. This is not what dogmatic doctrine dictates (which is merely another belief), but the living consciousness that exists beyond the threshold of conflict, in the sacred congress where we meet past passion to resolve all friction and cultivate peace.
Death / Transformation / Ancestors / (Keme) represents the threshold of physical death, the wisdom of the ancestors (Ojer Tzij), the cycle of transformation, and the bridge between the visible world and the underworld. It is the nawal of peace, resolution, pardon, and the closing of old karmic accounts so that new life can begin. In its sixth position (Wakib'), it brings the force of stability, equilibrium, physical grounding, and multidimensional balance—anchoring the fluid, evolutionary momentum of the trecena into a solid, unshakeable alignment across all six directions.
To embody Six Keme is to stand firmly at the axis where physical life meets ancestral spirit. It demands that we cease fearing transformation and instead use the certainty of death as a sharp tool to cut through petty dogmas, ancestral trauma, and stagnant conflicts. At this sixth station of the wave, Keme infuses the gestating creature—conceived in Imox, voiced in Ik', tested in Ak'ab'al, structured in K'at, and vitalized in K'an—with an immortal spirit and ancestral mandate. It reminds us that true peace is not the absence of passion, but the resolution of conflict through a higher spiritual reason that honors where we come from and heals the path for all who follow.

1. Visual Depiction in Codex Borgia (Plate 9)
In Plate 9 of Codex Borgia, where the 20 day signs are paired with their governing divinities, Mictlantecuhtli presides directly over Miquiztli:
Iconographic Identifiers: He is depicted as a skeletal or semi-fleshed figure with a bare skull, stark exposed teeth, and sunken eye sockets (or wide-staring eyes representing nocturnal vision).
Adornments of the Dead: His body is often painted with bone-motifs, and he wears paper ornaments stained with sacrificial offerings, ear-spools made of human bone, and a chest emblem formed from a gaping jaw (tlahuiztli).
The Throne of Shadows: He sits upon a throne or platform adorned with crossbones and skulls, holding sacrificial implements or standing before a cavernous portal that represents the throat of the earth (Mictlan).
2. Overview of Miquiztli and Mictlantecuhtli
Miquiztli (Death): The Sign Dynamics
Sign Number: 6th Day Sign of the 260-day Tonalpohualli (corresponding to Keme / Cimi in the Maya calendar).
Symbolism: Far from being merely a symbol of physical demise, Miquiztli represents essential transformation, quiet incubation, the stripping away of illusion, ancestral roots, and the necessary dissolution of old forms so new life can emerge.
The Sacred Vessel: In Mesoamerican thought, bones (omitl) are not dead waste—they are the indestructible seeds of future generations. Just as Quetzalcoatl retrieved the precious bones from Mictlan to create present humanity, Miquiztli holds the genetic and spiritual blueprint of life.
Mictlantecuhtli (Lord of the Underworld): The Governing Deity
Mictlantecuhtli rules Mictlan, the nine-layered underworld located in the northern realm of darkness (Mictlampa):
The Keeper of the Ancestral Seeds: He guards the ancestral remains and human souls until the time comes for them to be reborn or woven back into the living world. He represents the great cosmic soil where everything returns to be purified.
The Great Equalizer & Dissolver of Dogma: In Mictlantecuhtli’s court, all earthly titles, arrogant rationale, wealth, and dogmatic pride crumble. Death strip-mines the ego, leaving only what is true, indestructible, and immortal.
The Realm of Rest and Quiet Resolution: Mictlan is not a place of eternal punishment; it is a realm of rest, deep sleep, and resolution after the friction and passions of physical life.
3. Theological & Esoteric Synthesis (Miquiztli + Mictlantecuhtli)
When Miquiztli (the sign of transformation and closure) merges with Mictlantecuhtli (the Lord of the Bone-Seeds and Ancestral Spirit), a powerful spiritual dynamic takes shape:
Spiritual Reason over Passionate Conflict: Mictlantecuhtli holds up the skull as a mirror to human vanity. He shows us that the ideological battles and dogmatic conflicts we passionately fight in life are fleeting illusions. Facing Mictlantecuhtli grants the ultimate "spiritual reason"—the clarity that comes from viewing our actions through the lens of eternity and ancestral peace.
Healing the Lineage: By honoring Mictlantecuhtli under this sign, we make peace with our roots. We release inherited trauma, forgive old debts, and convert the heavy burdens of the past into strong, fertile soil for the gestating seed within us.
Liberation Through Full Experience: Mictlantecuhtli reminds us that death is not the enemy of life, but its natural boundary and completion. Knowing that change is absolute frees us to experience life fully, without clinging, fear, or artificial control.
