Just is
Today's combination is an invitation into the so necessary optimization of all our our concepts and practices around authority and leadership. It might just be that something happened, happens or will happen where you will enter a turned-around situation regarding this, or so it may seem at first. We might get invited into learning new ways about respect and about the distribution of tasks and responsibilities. The website got optimized and with that I invite you to share how this optimization has manifested for you, as what we will begin as a free and open advanced mayan calendar workshop. I know many folks still visit these readings, which keeps me writing, and now I believe we can do this first exercise of an advanced workshop where participants share how today's combination in this regard has manifested.
To me today's combination speaks an echo of all those aspects that I find crucial to optimize in our social relationships. In an attempt to make more equality for all, sometimes leadership is disregarded, downgraded and plainly disrespected, and this is harmful for the whole, since a true leader is only trying to see for all. But then the leader here must not react and "defend" his role. Rather, he/she must be passive and allow others to attempt at it. Let's remember that a leader is in a house, someone that takes care of a family or a project, is real, it's never a politician or some sort of renowned speaker. Domestication and becoming undomesticated are also things that today echoes for what is happening in our world now. In the path to become undomesticated, we might disregard or misunderstand cultures that are here to "allow us to get along in the house", meaning, there is good domestication, to a properly built house and culture, and bad domestication, to the slave society we are in urgent need to put an ending to.
In this process of creating our new house, our new rules, we will be breaking rules, and hearts, and ourselves. We are entering a bizarre but necessary period of experimentation where we need to try different things, and in this trying, many mistakes are made. It would be convenient for this to be together in groups and in circles where we share these experiments, thoughts and ideas, where we revise everything there is about our humanity and talk about it! Kind of the idea for the Muxuq Nina tribe. Remember that time is passing and it won't be waiting for anyone to make a decision, not making a decision is deciding to be passive. On the other hand to this, regarding authority, remaining passive and letting things happen and flow without wanting to order things even if evidently they could have a right place, (and from this will come the learning that is necessary for better leadership) is my advice on how to treats today's energy, which will be echoing into the past and into the future.

Like a lighting bolt, our minds are downloaded into a mammalian body where suddenly as we are born into this world, we are completely unknowing of everything that is around us, we must learn it once again. Through this process comes a wiring, a programing that stores our experience as it is received from the surroundings as we grow. We stop growing whenever we choose to. When you think your personality and identity is fixed, when you consider yourself an expert in your field, that's when you may erroneously choose to think you are fully grown and that you should stop growing.
You must be peaked to find something more, something better, a greater more clear understanding, out of pure curiosity. If this curiosity is lost, then you are doomed. From this curiosity comes the path of self discovery, self deconstruction and the study of the "occult" —the information that suspiciously has been hidden from us. Without it we will be stuck with an insufficient and deficient criterion to run our lives. As a result we are pray to be unlawfully taxed, surveilled, controlled and shackled. This learnt naïveté is responsible for all the suffering in the world, and today's nawal invites you to take a look at it.
If we were to treat our judgment as a regular court case is treated, how we judge others and how we relate to others and with ourselves within our own minds, would be completely different. We jump to conclusions and we entertain unfounded gossip. It's what we constantly watch and understand as "entertaining". Being casted out of the control of your own destiny, you resign to entertainment as a means to deal with the incredible boredom having lost curiosity gives.
We are judged every day by the consequences of our own state of mind, primarily, and secondarily, by that of others. We here are in a path to exit that "dumbfoundness" and so we might just get a squirt of excitement about this, because we can find the truth on our own, and find peace when we find it. For that however, we must release our past loyalties and release the wiring so that it can receive information from a greater level, a higher dimension. You know you have found judgment when you stop judging.

Sprouting the seed is the ultimate commitment of delivering on your vision. Nothing in this trecena is allowed to be illusionary, wasteful, or idle; every single step serves as a critical process toward final completion. The first movement of this cycle demanded cleansing—washing away, cutting off, and assimilating the chaos to establish order around and ahead of us. Today’s nawal reveals the exact mechanism that makes this order functional: mental clarity and structural prioritization.
To assimilate the waters of reality, we must first ignite an absolute willingness to face whatever arises. We must find composure within the natural flow and rhythm as the necessary trials assemble themselves on our path. Here, 3 Tz'i' steps in to demand the maturity required to discern what comes first and what comes second. It is the intelligence that distinguishes between genuine duty and trivial distraction.
The wisdom of Tz'i' teaches us the true nature of right judgment and authority. Authentic authority has nothing to do with ego, self-importance, or a performance of hurt feelings disguised as reactive self-respect. True authority is simple and clean: it is knowing precisely what calls for your focus, possessing the quiet strength to turn away from irrelevant noise, and directing your full presence toward what genuinely requires execution.
Authority is not about hierarchy, worth, or personal vanity; it is about objective order. It is knowing the exact place and timing of every element within the living process of growth. Because different seeds embody different visions and worldviews, their internal order and governing authority will be entirely distinct. Once you deeply grasp this, any human power pyramid or external hierarchy dissolves instantly the moment you choose to operate outside its specific worldview.
Tz'i' (Dog) represents divine law, justice, authority, truth, loyalty, guardianship, and the instinctual clarity required to navigate complexity. Tz'i' is the cosmic judge and faithful guardian that maintains structural integrity, protecting the spiritual path from decay and distortion. Paired with the frequency of the Number 3—Oxib', representing the first physical manifestation, the tripod of life, movement, integration, and the establishment of a solid baseline—this day grounds the floating waters of Toj into concrete, actionable direction.
To embody 3 Oxib' Tz'i' is to exercise ruthless mental clarity and self-governance. Emerging directly from the turbulent, cleansing waters of 2 Toj, this third step of the trecena demands that you stop reacting emotionally to every wave and instead assume command over your focus. The seed has been sown, the heavy rain has fallen; now, Tz'i' arrives to establish the law, set strict priorities, and align your energy exclusively with what serves the final flowering.

1. Tz'i' (Highland Maya / K'iche')
The word Tz'i' (pronounced Tsee', with an explosive glottalized tz' and a sharp glottal stop at the end, historically written as Tzi, Tz'i', or Zi') literally translates to dog, but its semantic matrix stretches across concepts of justice, boundaries, law, authority, and instinctual guardianship.
Morphological Breakdown & Etymology
Tz'i' (Root Noun): Dog, canine.
Tz'ianik / Tz'iarik (Verb Forms): To bark, to guard, to act with aggressive loyalty, or to enforce a perimeter.
U-tz'i'il (Essentialized Noun): The canine nature; loyalty, instinctual fidelity, or raw protective drive.
Tz'i' (Literal Synthesis): The Dog / Guardian / Enforcer of Boundaries.
Core & Literal Meanings
The Physical Dog / Animal (Ch'uti Tz'i'): The domesticated canine, revered across Mesoamerica as the ultimate guide through dark, dense terrain and the Underworld (Xibalba).
Cosmic Law and Justice (Uq'atbal Tzij / Tz'i'): The principle of objective order, truth, and non-negotiable boundaries. Tz'i' is the judge that evaluates cause and effect without emotional reactivity.
Guardianship and Loyalty (Chajinel / K'amal B'e): The unyielding quality of staying faithful to a principle, a community, an altar, or a purpose through any weather or hardship.
Authority and Governance (K'amalal): True self-mastery and execution of responsibility without the vanity of human ego.
Uses in Everyday Speech (Common Language)
In daily K'iche' and Guatemalan Highland speech, Tz'i' operates in practical, animal, and conversational contexts:
1. Domesticated Animals & Agriculture
Ri tz'i': "The dog" (referring to the household or farm dog).
Uk'iya saqil tz'i': "Raising a white dog" or "caring for a guard dog."
K-uk'an ri tz'i': "The dog barks" or "the dog alerts."
2. Social Traits & Descriptions
Tz'i'al (Adjectival use): Fierce, stubbornly loyal, or protective of one's territory/family.
B'anal tz'i': "One who acts like a dog" (used colloquially either to describe someone fiercely protective/loyal or, pejoratively, someone who acts purely on instinct without thought).
Uses in Ceremonial, Esoteric, and Idiomatic Discourse (Not So Common / Specialized Language)
In Mayan timekeeping (Mayajep), in the speech of Ajq'ijab' (daykeepers), and in ceremonial/philosophical K'iche', Tz'i' expands into deep cosmological metaphors:
1. Spiritual & Legal Terminology
Uq'atbal Tzij Tz'i': "The Bench of Judgment / The Scales of Tz'i'" (referring to divine justice, spiritual tribunal, or the balancing of moral accounts).
Chajinel Tz'i': "The Spiritual Guardian Dog" (the energetic presence that protects the perimeter of a ceremony, household, or community from hostile influences).
Uk'u'x Tz'i': "Heart of Truth / Essence of Law" (the inner compass that distinguishes between real duty and reactive ego).
2. Metaphorical & Idiomatic Expressions
Tz'i' k'aslemal: "A life of strict discipline or guardian duty" (describing someone who yields their personal comfort to uphold a law, a family, or a mission).
U-tz'i'al ri q'atbal: "The teeth of justice" (an idiom describing the inevitable, sharp consequences of violating sacred laws or social contracts).
2. Oc / Ok (Lowland Maya / Yucatec Maya)
In Yucatec Maya and Lowland traditions, the 10th day sign of the Cholq'ij/Tzolkin corresponds to Oc (pronounced Ohk or O'ok, historically written as Oc, Ok, or Och).
Morphological Breakdown & Etymology
The root Ok carries a distinct dual meaning in Lowland Maya languages, blending the concept of the dog with the action of stepping through a doorway or entering a threshold:
Ok (Noun 1): Dog, canine.
O'ok / Ok (Noun 2 / Verb Root): Foot, leg, entrance, to enter, or to cross a threshold.
Okol (Verb): To enter, to penetrate, or to step into a new space/state of being.
Ok-ja' (Compound): "To enter the water" (the Yucatec term for baptism, initiation, or immersion).
Core & Literal Meanings
The Guide to the Underworld (Xibalba): In Lowland mythology, Oc is the canine companion with torch-shaped ears that leads the deceased soul through the dark rivers of the Underworld to reach the place of rebirth.
The Foot / Stepping Footprint (O'ok): The physical or spiritual step that establishes a path, enters a room, or crosses an initiation line.
Threshold and Access (Okol): The doorway or portal between the visible physical realm and the unseen spiritual dimensions.
Sensory Instinct: The acute olfactory and auditory perception of the canine—sensing what is hidden before it becomes visible.
Uses in Everyday Speech (Common Language in Yucatec)
In standard Yucatec Maya, Ok appears in physical, spatial, and anatomical contexts:
1. Anatomy & Movement
In w'ook: "My foot" or "my leg."
Ok-b'al: "To walk on foot" or "to step forward."
Oken: "Come in" or "enter" (a standard greeting when inviting someone across a doorstep).
2. Animals
P'eek / Ok: While peek' is the modern everyday word for a household pet dog in standard Yucatec, Ok remains the ancient root used in compound descriptions, traditional stories, and ceremonial terms.
Uses in Esoteric & Ceremonial Language (Not So Common / Specialized Language)
In Yucatec ritual practice, ancient glyphic inscriptions, and Mayan astrology:
1. Glyphic & Mythological Concepts
Ok-K'in: "The entrance of the Sun" (referring to sunset, twilight, or the moment the Sun enters the Underworld).
Ok-ja': "Water-entry" (a ceremony of spiritual cleansing, initiation, or crossing into sacred commitments).
Ah Ok: "The Enforcer / The One who enters first" (referring to pathfinders, trail-blazers, or ritual guardians who clear the path for others).
