Jun Tz’ikin – Creator

As soon as we begin to see, we begin to observe creation around us. We experience life as new; every experience is undescribed and unfamiliar until we begin to understand language. With language, we are told what it is that we are experiencing; we are told what the world is and how it works. In a modern industrial household, we are shaped to perceive the universe as already created—we are framed as mere inhabitants of a world that is already here, where we just need to learn to ride the system. Within that description, countless things that are not truly real get attached. With the same ease with which we perceive trees, we swallow the myths and laws we are fed about what those trees are good for and how they make the air we breathe.

Spirit, for some, pushes through the mental barriers of this description and reclaims the initial awareness of the bearer, pointing the way out of the excessive constructs that condense creation into a perceptual prison. But this prison has many layers, and escaping some is not escaping all. You can be proud of being free from what was a blatant lie, get comfortable there, and fail to realize there are still deeper lies you are comfortably sitting in. If you feel tired, anxious, or alone, these are signs that you are not completely out yet. If you stay put, the prison swallows you back in, leaving you with nothing more than self-importance and intellectual freedom. If you choose to continue moving, you must jump into the abyss of being truly alone.

This abyss—which we passed through yesterday in these nawalic teachings with 13 I’x—is the great initiation that Toltec warriors undergo. It is the embracing of our ultimate nature: that beyond temporal worlds like this lifetime, our souls travel alone in a cosmos of fluid creation where nothing is fixed. The ultimate intimacy and company we yearn for is found with ourselves, in the realization that we are not a singularity, but a couple, a family, or even a community of beings sharing the same body of awareness. Embodying this sets us apart from those who choose to stay put. The path of the warrior begins with this departure into the desert, into the forest, alone, to discover who we are and what we are made of.

This is the path of the Jaguar warrior. Complementary to the development of self-reliance and cognitive autonomy is the physical training of the body and its re-immersion into the natural world, from which modern humans have been cleverly abducted. Bodily intelligence—perceiving surroundings, finding agile movement, and refusing to be deafened by the noise of the intellectual mind—is vital, because reason is never the system used to transit the natural world. Martial training was never disengaged from an authentic spiritual practice. If your spiritual path lacks physical and martial training, your development remains imprisoned by the mind, trapped in the mirage that the body is separate from the mind when they are one and the same.

When you realize that sitting in front of a screen or stuck in traffic will never yield holistic freedom—because even if your mind is somehow free, your body is not—you may decide to jump into the next initiation. You go at it alone, placing total trust in the only one you should trust: yourself. When you reach this point, you enter the realm of this trecena—the time of the creator. Understanding the temporary limitations of the physical body and resources, we gather the training plan for the Eagle Warriors. Through focused information and physical discipline, we achieve a level of freedom that leads to commitment, dedication, and trust—co-creating the possibility to land bodily in a place where we can complete the training and enter the Jaguar phase: the holistic liberation of body and spirit into their full potential.

One Tz’ikin is the great mind, the mind of the creator. Here, the universe, the creator, and the created are not separate; they are one and the same. Creation has layers, like an onion. One external layer embraces all others, and as we go deeper inside, more layers appear. One very small, dense layer is the temporal slave system reality we have built for ourselves, or that other creators have built to keep us contained or push us out into broader dimensions. Good and evil are not separate here; they are merely the stages you choose to occupy or walk toward. You can be a victim or a victimizer through the most developed tool ever created for that purpose: today’s transhumanist system. Or you can accept its existence and choose to expand beyond it—the only true alternative. In the end, this expansion is the escape and the ultimate destiny we can ever arrive at.

The only thing keeping you sitting here or there is your own power to choose. It is tricky; we are trained to choose only what we can visually see, and the outer layers are never visible through the logic of the inner layers. If the skill of walking outside into the unknown has not been developed, all you have been doing is digging your pit deeper. Yet in the outer layers, concepts like up, down, near, and far become irrelevant as different laws take form. What remains is the power within you to realize that making a choice is enough to generate the universe around you. Choosing is enough to transform reality and force it to guide you to a destination far outside the place you are flying away from.

Tz’ikin (Eagle) represents the eagle, the bird of high flight, vision, abundance, the intermediary between the Earth and the Heart of the Sky (Uk’u’x Kaj), luck, third-eye perception, and the expansion of consciousness. Tz’ikin is the nawal of visionaries, messengers, spiritual merchants, and those who possess the perspective to see the entire landscape from above without getting entangled in the brush below. Paired with the foundational, primordial, and seeds-of-creation frequency of the Number 1—the energy of Jun, representing the initiation of a new 13-day cycle, unity, origin, independent determination, and the raw impulse of life—this sign marks the absolute birth of the Tz’ikin trecena.
