Everyone is back home now. Our recapitulation of the fire initiation begins. Time to order our memories, photos, stories, recount and tell our other soul companions, summoned and present to this venus conjunction beginning of the new fire. Here let’s bring together our thoughts, recounts, memories and even photos of this trascendental an irrepeatable experience we were so lucky to be able to have together.
To us Mayra and Julian, the story is unique and unpublished. I knew I wad served a lot on my plate. I had dropped expectations for lighting the new fire, and put it in the hands of this, whatever happened, as it happened. The cave being put on my hands was a first, unprecedented blessing, I could not believe that they would actually rent it and be open to our mysterious and undisclosed ritual we were to perform in there. I trusted the spirit and that those that would come would be the right ones. It just was, that the first of the group I met at the airport would be our fire guardian in the cave, Eva. The eclipses had already done their thing and dropped one assistant from making it. Juhl’s man, would not be allowed in. The eclipse did not finish there, it continued putting obstacles as it wasen’t possible to enter the airport for half a day due to the teacher’s syndicate being on strike. Juhl would not allow it. One cast and the path was opened, were were allowed in. A delayed Wendy from New Zealand landed just on time that I would be there picking up everyone at almost the same time. A drive at night to the hotel in Teotihuacan ended our first day.
The garden of the humingbirds in Teotihuacan became our home, well accepted with the group, it allowed the setting of perfect harmony and flow to be set for the gathering. Rested we were and well fed we fled to the majestic visit to the largest pyramid, for starters. Soon we were baked by the scorching energies and the story was told on a slanty slope of a tree’s shade, overlooking the man-made mountain. My research shared, we marched on to the moon plaza where the goddess of the living waters, chalchiutlicue, gaia, life, was presented to the group as what was worhsipped in this part of the world. Next, quetzalpapalotl’s palace shaded us where more understanding of the workings of this sacred place of congress was given. Popsicles later our day would not be over without the last rushed visit to the site’s museum, where the artifacts tell the other part of the tale. Life made sense back then, it was advanced, we saw the evidence.
Our first main course meal together summoned Tlaloc, the rain, amidst the dry season. It freshened our views while we joyed in the natural affinity that distinguished the group. Mexican food connoiseur Sean forwarded the answers to the raining questions of what the culinary wonders were about. Drinks and cheers brought us to the night quickly and to rest off some of the travelling we had all endoured, some a lot more than others.
Third day was a peaceful trip to the tepantitla palace where the murals of the tlalocan, the rain god’s paradise -where the kids go when they die before becoming adults- are found. On the other side of that same wall laid the Sipaktonal priests, whom, parafrasing Sean, did the same thing I was doing: teach others about the wisdom and worldview of the toltecs. A face to face with the images of Tlaloc himself bearing arrows that represent lightning, fire struck, the revelation. It’s all connected. We then snaked on to quetzalcoatl’s palace, where our intentions were laid, prayers where said, in the people’s quarter, the market, the meeting place of all.
Toltec training teachings were held in the mornings at the living rooms of both of our hotels. We are started with the teachings, recordings coming soon, and the course inscription too, will be released as the next task after recapitulating this year’s munaytinku journey. Back in the garden, the day of the ceremony began with the fire of the temazcal. Windy it was, all throughout the journey, and this day it showed. The shell trumpet would not blow, but the birds showed us the way flying by the thousands above our heads while we were saluting the sunset to enter the earth’s womb, the sacred sweat lodge. A swift cleanse and chant had us ready, fasting for our next womb, the dry one, the cave. Preserved as is from the times of the Teotihuacan’s, this cave is found inside the metropolitan area and was kept as a natural reserve and astronomical cave where the zenital passing can be observed. Archaelogical remains and blocked tunnels where there unguarded to accompany us as we opened the portal. It was a new experience to me, to everyone. We respectfully did it properly, asked the right way, took the time to dance, sing, prepare and flow in the way that it would all give in.
We were in, the place accepted us, our offerings, our prayers, and we were allowed to speak to the fire of creation. Each of us kept it to their own, that special thing they said to the fire. Every single one there was prepared for what there happened, we were allowed in. Back to sleep, the last day would be about travelling to Mexico City, meeting at the rooftop overlooking the Cuicuilco pyramid, older that Teotihuacan. We got ready to travel even further back in time, to nature, to mother water. Our two beloved fire medicine women went back home while four new water medicine women were arriving, ready for the next leg, the water healing retreat.
