When we are young, we think we can go out into the world and achieve our dreams and desires. We stumble upon a type of magic, be it materialistic or mystic, that we learn to perform to gain advantage over the world, so that we may push through our intentions. Today's nawal is here to teach us the naivety of this thinking and action.
When we choose a type of mystic practice like toltequity, we train ourselves to be more clear-minded and more aware, to stalk ourselves and uncover our own deceptions. Regardless of how long we have trained and how successful our training has been, we will always stumble upon our minds playing with us, confusing readings and signs with the fears cast from within ourselves. We might also fall under the spell of the ego when we observe, for the first time, our more aware mind being able to take advantage of weaker ones.
Today's nawal, then, is here to teach us about maturing this aspect of navigating the world of spirit, that dimension we enter when we are successful in untying ourselves from the shackles of materialism. It may seem fun and might apparently help to see oneself as a warrior, a wizard, a heroic figure navigating the world. But this is infantile and shows that we still have everything to learn. Navigating the dimensions of spirit and magic is really more like being a careful cat, knowing how to differentiate between the shadows of the self and the mind, and the real signs. There is a powerful inward process of modifying everything we wanted to see and believe, and allowing ourselves to see everything that truly is. Magical powers are more about getting a forecast right than modifying the future to suit our desires. This can still be done, but there is a far more subtle, complex, and mysterious process involved.
How many times have you seen something coming, but preferred to think you would avoid it? When you face it, and you smile in the face of your fear, it is then that this unfortunate event is transformed into a fortunate one. The trail of the warrior, of the magician, is never seen. It cannot be followed, it cannot be repeated, it cannot be explained. Magic occurs in the underlying code that describes reality. We do not change reality in and of itself, only how we face and interpret it, how we embody it as spiritual beings.
