Wearing the glove

When we first begin the path of consciousness, we become aware and sensitive to so many things, about the fact that everything is alive and feels, an so we feel with it. From this awareness we shift our lives so that we are caring and loving, constructive and sensitive, and not hurting and destroying. This is a long path, and just as we are far inside the reading cycle, today's sign reads about what happens when you are considerably inside the cycle. When we look at the animal (I wonder if your life will get you to observing animals, a path of awakening should), the wild animal, you will see that they take risks and sometimes those risks result in their death; and they die happily, nothing is wrong with that. When we begin understanding nature, we get a different perspective from this first impression we got from entering the path of consciousness.

It might sound harsh and insensitive, but it just sounds like it or appears that way. Life is holistic, and that includes the darkness, the suffering and the experiences we are here to have. We are here to live life and therefore use life, experience it. We must take care of our bodies, but we must use them too. If taking care of your body means staying at home doing nothing, caressing every mosquito bite and avoiding getting hurt, then what is getting hurt is your experience, your strength. Jumping off of a cliff or climbing a mountain, where you might break a bone or get bit or scratched severely, where you may face death, that's living, that's using life, living life, wearing the glove.

Getting the field ready for planting seeds means you need to violently strip away plants, burn and modify the earth and the land. Worms will get killed while moving soil and their dead bodies will feed your crops. These things are natural and happen every day in a country life. Coming from the cities, the consciously awakened might have to figure this out, that their idea of not killing a fly is the most anti-natural, deprived of nature, ineffective and counterproductive attitude you might have, completely foreign to mother earth. Sterile softness will show against the harmonious nature of the planet we live in, where there are earthquakes, volcanoes, storms, fires, caves, shadows, darkness, work, suffering and death. Today's nawal invites us to get out of the sterile flask of our apparent spirituality and find a spirituality where our hands get dirty and we actually do something productive with our lives, meaning we will have to kill and make way, make mistakes, fuck up, use and even abuse the tools, bodies and moments that life gives us. It will be ok, you will become a better human, a real one.

¡Aloha!
