Nahui Ollin, the four movement, today's combination, was highly praised and represented by the Mexica as one of their main and most revered signs. It represents balance and order within movement. If we look at earth's geological history, we will see that that there are strong evidences that prove that in the deep past, the weather, the earth's axis and even the poles were different. Only until the Holocene did the earth enter a new stage of equilibrium, where the axis doesn't wobble as much and the seasons and eras don't fluctuate as much, making the weather diverse, balanced and stable. Meanwhile it is relevant to mention that there is a strong tie to this earth balance and today's nawal. Caban, N'oj, can be sometimes associated with earthquakes, shaking, destruction and violent change, and that, we can sometimes forecast for a N'oj day that combines with another numeral. But the number four is N'oj's best representation as what it normally acts like: an orderly, grounded, sincere, noble and straight forward character bound to create life, movement and love for others.
Nahui ollin is represented in the center of the sun stone, the Mexica's or Aztec's most iconic image (poorly confused with or called mayan calendar) and it's there because central to the Mexica worldview was the idea that they were living in the fifth sun (sun in this sense means era, age), which was a sun of balance where mankind finally was in order with the cosmos, bringing it reverence and offerings (sacrifice!) as the past four suns and their civilizations, represented too in the sun stone, where destroyed by cataclysms because they forgot about the creator.
At this scale, we must hope and do what is necessary to keep this balance, it came to be and it is there for a reason. Beyond that, on the surface of this balanced earth, whatever we do to destroy ourselves is very much secondary and a lot less scary. Bringing this energy home and to people, the combination can sometimes seem a little "fascist". I forgot to mention that the nahui ollin is the symbol for the movement of the four elements and thus the swastika known by many ancient cultures. As an energy that seeks to put order into what has become deviated, ground and join everything so that it all turns around together as a unity, this energy can sometimes show this aspect of being a little bit too orderly and tyrannical. There are unsolved human paradoxes lying here. How do we all come together and move around a pivot so that we don't destroy each other?
