The sweet way
When we were little we understood something very clearly. We wanted to do things, no matter what they were, as long as it was in a sweet, fun and exciting way. Then came the adults with their adultism and started squeezing our sweet juice trying to make us do things in a way that wasn't sweet and fun, that was uncomfortable, forced, unpleasant. They told us it was responsibility. The very little sweetness we got from doing these things was seeing our parents and society happy, we were behaving correctly.
As we made ourselves "grow up" we learned to not savor the sweetness of life, of enjoying doing things in our way, and learned to be pleased with the fact that we were doing things "correctly", "as expected" from everyone. That became our only sweetness. Today comes to remind us of this, that this is not the way. Something will probably happen that will show this to you. My advice is that you choose and find the way to live in a way that everything you do, you do because you truly and deeply wish to do it, and that you find ways to do everything in a manner that is fun, exciting, and healing, even the dishes.

It seems though as like the rule of two manifests infinitely through different levels and principles, and mainly through a law of opposites, where everything that goes, comes back; and complimentary dualism, like genders or having two sides for everything in biology, ej. the brain. As true as this is, there is no biological trace -maybe- or observable -through light- law about a third principle that interacts with the wave function, the oscillation, but is not quite there, in the same level. Let's call this a proxy, or the observer. To a great extent, the dual functions of the universe serve but the purpose of who is observing them; they are fixed, but liquid, not solid. Understanding the proxy can be the most awakening function we ever have. Preparing for the fact that everything we do, everything that happens, will manifest as a reaction to something else, reflecting the oscillation. For example one of my kids is very much rule oriented, and the other is cheat oriented. One naturally wants to be different and better than the other, and this is understood as being somehow the opposite, or in this case, being smart through the opposite function. As you can see, not one function is the smart one, there is intelligence in playing by the rules and there is intelligence in not doing so, intelligence is the proxy.
Sometimes though, the proxy can go missing, and we can fall into believing too strongly in one of the sides of anything, or thinking that one side is good and the other is bad. Today's nawal wants to share the wisdom of the proxy and the teaching of the observer, everything is... relative to what you are seeing it like, and what you want it to be. When the proxy is understood, small shifts in the language used to describe and communicate can make the difference. The example presented itself where I was telling my daughter that school was "bad"... as I got into describing how and why, I avoided the word bad and instead used insufficient. Once that school was not censored or negated by the word "bad" and rather more precisely described with the word "insufficient", emotional reaction was not triggered and sense was made, and being the rule oriented one, she finally got to see and understand my side where the set "rules" and institutions that make the rules, are not always for the benefit of us.
We are told to follow the heart and disregard the mind, and we do this when only the mind can guide us to be intelligent and not drown in the waters of mammalian emotional consciousness, which will always keep us trapped in dualism. This can be played the other way around, so a third proxy again is necessary. When you understand the proxy, or have it, you know that there is always a third, different option to what is evidently the only two choices that are available. This is always the way. When you don't have it, you fall into choosing one of the sides which will only lead to the repetition of the oscillation. Evolution is in your hands.

Hanging on the knotted reality of our current hammock can sometimes be a sweet place to rest. We need to look at it that way. And so, when we finally choose to pull the knife out to cut the knots away, the act itself will be exciting. Stoicism does not need to be toxic; it can be that chili spice that makes the meal of your life tasty. It can come with dessert, with change—it doesn't have to be the exact same flavor always. Today can simply be a regular day, and regular days are necessary. You won’t find great troubles or extreme storms under a nawal like Ox'ib' Aaj.
It should be sweet, humble, and entirely straightforward. It is precisely the kind of energy that supplies the stamina and the time to move us forward in whatever we are constructing, building, creating, pursuing, or traveling toward. Conflict and problems dissolve the moment we pause to sip some sweet tea or coffee. That break, that sweetness, is always available to us, and it is present especially today.
The Reed/The Cornstalk (Aaj / Ben) represents the home, the altar, the spine, multiplication, abundance, and the vertical connection between heaven and earth. It is the staff of life. In its third position (Ox'ib'), it carries the frequency of the number three, which introduces the force of action, dynamism, artistic expression, and the first step of external manifestation. Three takes the polarity of the previous step and gives it a creative spark to move.
To embody Three Aaj is to master the sweet foundation of the altar. Action does not always require a violent, roaring fire; today, it requires the quiet, steady growth of the reed. Sitting at the dynamic threshold of the number three, this energy reminds you that building your life, your home, or your purpose should not be a perpetual trauma response. True warrior discipline contains sweetness. If you are constantly bracing for a storm, you miss the quiet replenishment that a regular, peaceful day offers. Use the gentle, supportive lens of today's nawal to feed your foundations. Take a breath, savor the resting place you have built, and let the sweetness dissolve your manufactured conflicts. You are being given the steady energy to create—move forward with humility, ease, and a light heart.
