Old faithful
Contrary to the idea that flow would bring change and that letting go of people is flowing, today will teach us that keeping allegiance with someone is also flowing. Opinions can be very different, and even a someone can become our biggest enemy and yet, we decide to keep them nearby. Two different areas of knowledge, like the Maya cosmology course and the coming Toltec initiation course can be very different, separate, you don't need to have one to do the other, yet they go together, and at best, you would have them both. There is an invitation today to separate, to understand that differences bring individualism and autonomy, and that doesn't mean we must divorce and abandon. There is sayings for this, together but not mixed. Learning to perceive and understand different layers and their go-together but are separate in knowledge and wisdom, is part of growing smarter and being wiser. We need to work with the rings of the onion, understand they are there, and not get confused about it.

The path of medicine is the path towards freedom. What is it that we need to be free from? What is it that we need healing from? In the clash of what our spirit drives us to do and what time allows us to do, we find ourselves swimming in the waters of our own creation. Nothing is separate here, we are all one and the same, what happens to one happens to all. All of our waste and negativity goes into the water we are bathing in. This is a gestational blood that today gives birth to a spirit that we are to know and respect.
The artificial intelligence realm, the web, matrix; with its movies, shows, videogames and shopping malls, gives us the illusion of an outer world we will be travelling to in the near future. It is constantly producing a fictitious virtual reality necessary for us to live in as we are almost unable to withstand the heat in our waters of the real world, which are rising. This is the only realm that can continue growing, everyone out there bets on it. Gurus alike earn their living by writing and telling truths and stories that are placed within this boat shipping to this flatland infinite space. Ceremonies and sacred spaces are made so we can enjoy our lives experiencing the nature around us without having to actually gather in the circle where we discuss the real now, the water that makes us.
Avoiding our responsibility is creating an army of entities that are out there hunting souls. You have been wise in staying free from them. Still, you are bonded to having to avoid them, you are dominated by a reality you can't escape, a responsibility you can't avoid. We have to live with this entity everyday, and today's nawal and reading can help us improve this understanding and this relationship.

Placing the fire of your desire into the sacred brazier—allowing it to burn cleanly on its own without you—is how the Toj trecena operates across each of its nawals. This is a deeply animist thirteen-day cycle where our consciousness branches outward, projecting vital aspects of itself into beings that roam the world and explore and retrieve wisdom on our behalf. The most foundational of these internal allies is today's nawal: "Old Faithful," the embodiment of radical self-loyalty. It is our consciousness turning inward to witness what we truly desire, feel, and think, responding with absolute loyalty and sacred reciprocity.
If we embrace a healthy, grounded self-focus during this count, we will emerge stronger and more integrated than ever. Today begins with honoring the faithful companion within: that quiet presence that stands by us at every crossroads, ready to offer guidance and steady support. This is true self-love. It aligns with the Toltec realization that we are not singular, but dual—possessing a luminous double that moves in unison with our daily awareness. When nourished by love, this internal companion is a devoted ally.
When self-love is absent, that same loyal companion turns into a predatory wolf turned against its own home. It criticizes every misstep, feeds on self-doubt, and undermines our efforts. This hostile wolf is an all-too-familiar entity—the manufactured companion of a domesticated, predatory civilization designed to break the human spirit through fear and submission.
Choosing self-love means refusing to surrender to that internal predator. It means standing by yourself with unwavering devotion, no matter how cold, solitary, or uncertain the path appears. Self-loyalty is the flame that preserves your warmth and fuels the quest for freedom. When the medicine of Tooj is active—when we renounce entitled demands and align our vessel with genuine gratitude—our inner companion shows up in its highest expression: the steadfast hound that never abandons our side, illuminating the road ahead.
Tz'i' (Dog/Authority) represents the dog, divine and earthly law, justice, unconditional loyalty, guardianship, intuition, and the staff of sacred authority. Tz'i' is the nawal of natural order, emotional truth, friendship, and the balance between instinctual drive and spiritual integrity. Paired with the dual, polarizing frequency of the Number 2—the energy of polarity, partnership, reflection, decision-making, and dynamic balance—this sign challenges us to examine our primary alliance: the relationship we cultivate with ourselves.
To embody 2 Tz'i' is to stand as an unshakeable guardian of your own spirit and commit to radical self-loyalty. Occupying the second position of the Toj trecena, this energy asks you to tame the internal wolf of self-criticism and restore the sacred companion of unconditional love. Honor your inner boundaries, hold true to your personal law, and let Old Faithful guide you forward with loyalty, clarity, and strength.
