Honor.

The snake proved quickly against the imposed negativity of its stereotype. We are all predators, we are all snakes, we are all living. Recognizing our predator nature is what allows us to elevate to the highest honor. This is to recognize, respect and accommodate the want, the desire, the need, into the setting. Honoring the circumstances, honoring the land as it sits, becoming part of the ecosystem. Float on the waves of the rhythms or drown. If your snake is too heavy, your hunger too great, you will go down. Learn to be light, and learn to honor others, even if they are predators too. When proper respect is in place, great learning is achieved. This great wisdom is like rich food, you don't need a lot of it to be well. Richness can only be achieved through becoming smarter, not by getting bigger and meaner.

A new cycle ends and a new one is in place, and we get taught and prepared for the coming trecena. If faced from learning, from having elevated and become lighter, then we will achieve flight properly. If we have not taken these thirteen days as a teaching, if only gluttony or toxicity was present, than the coming flight may not go so well. If our egos still don't allow us to engage in love with others, then we will be celled and chastised by the coming energies. The lesson of honor is that magic, power, energetic exchange, doesn't happen through the symbolic prayer and the safety of our altars. It happens out there in how we relate to others, to ourselves, to the land, to the community and to the all.

Rebirth.

We are invited today to shed our skin, change our habits, shift our cycles and rhythms, and be reborn into a new trecena tomorrow. Time will be pushing us here; unavoidably, we cannot remain still, encircled, or locked in. The cyclicity of No’j and time-space is not an eternal repetition of the exact same thing. Rather, it is a passing by the same place, but from an entirely new vantage point.

There is a mathematical law governing us that has rarely been included in anything I have ever read or heard, yet it is the most obvious reality: radical emergence. This law states that creation can never be fully predicted, as there is an exponential emergence of new creations and possibilities born from growth and evolution. It speaks directly to the core nature of animism: the cosmos is not a finished, static creation; it is not a finite reservoir of energy merely shifting forms. Instead, we inhabit a cosmos where creation and creations are constantly emerging. As new things or beings are brought into existence, entirely new possibilities of what can be created surge along with them.

What this means is that all forecasts and predictions can be thrown out with absolute confidence. Many outcomes seem plausible, even evident, but there is always a tiny fraction of unpredictability that emerges and can lead the entire system astray. This is precisely where love and free will fit into the equation. The world will not run its course in a predictable, mechanical manner. At some point, you will choose to participate, and that single act of participation will change the course of everything in this world.

Today's No’j invites us to take this step and find a way to evolve ourselves out of repeating the same old version of who we are. Yesterday, we were invited to scavenge on the leftovers and feed from a decaying world as a means of survival—a way to gain the necessary antibodies for what is here and what is coming. Today, we are invited to shed everything we are completely, peel our skins off, and dare to expose our tender, true insides as a shining armor, meant specifically for that which is to come, and for those who are joining us in walking away from the decaying old.

The Earth/Knowledge (No’j) represents the mind, intellect, cosmic memory, and the literal movement of the earth. In its thirteenth position (Oxlajuj), it carries the highest frequency of transformation, completion, and the transition into the invisible. It is the absolute peak of the mountain before jumping into the next cycle.

To embody Thirteen No’j is to master evolutionary intelligence. It is the realization that wisdom is not about memorizing the past or calculating a fixed future; it is the courage to think an entirely new thought. The mind must crack open to allow radical emergence to happen through you. Today is not a day for minor adjustments; it is the final, heavy push at the end of the line. The skin you are wearing has grown tight and brittle. Rip it open, let the old predictions fail, and trust the unpredictable force of your own free will to land you exactly where the new dawn begins tomorrow.
