Breaking free

Today's nahual tunes in an energy that speaks of liberation, of breaking free from the ties of karma. The universal well of water means that we are all drinking out of the same water, there is no other water, we are dipped in everyone's energies. However, today's energy reveals to me, that the thick, dark, polluted water in this well has surface tension  like all water does. It is around you where the thickest, less transparent energy sticks. If you are willing to move and keep moving, if you are willing to see from above, from the sun, from the moon, and from the inner fire, then you can stir and move to clearer waters, see beyond the thickness and find the source of infinity. That opportunity may present to you today, or if not at the least, the knowledge of this.

Without

Entitlement and transaction are ideas that are produced in our minds that help process the information and facilitate our daily lives, and we have our own concept of it which is many times out of reality, what we think is not what is. We project this into our relationships and into magic and spirituality, alluding to karma and to manifestation, thinking we are paying for what we have done, or that we are owed for our good deeds. When we do offerings and rituals, there is a certain degree of this, we pay to receive, we sacrifice, offer in advance so that we are not charged for it later. We might be getting this all wrong, and maybe there is no right way to get it. What I can elucidate amongst the midst of my foggy perception (foggy because I'm making this a point, that perception is foggy by nature, we rarely see with clarity what is real) is that we can focus on the cleaning and the keeping. Offering is keeping alive, is remembering, is honoring; we are not paying for something we did wrong, nor investing in a future blessing; if it works that way it's only because we believe so. But the day comes when that belief that had manifested as a reality, crumbles to the true reality that was laying underneath.

The best we can do is feed our perception, train for energy, detangle from the dark strings of lack of love, pain and fear. With this we can maybe perceive with more clarity what is happening, what needs to be taken care of. This notion may come by a great taking away, something being lost, today you might find yourself without it.

Rage

You lean toward water, and things flow smoothly. Emotions pour out rather than building up; you connect, you understand. You adapt and you accept—no attachment, no control. You tell yourself this is just the way things are, and you must allow them. But if you stay there, your life becomes cold and frigid; boring, yet peaceful. You remain sensitive, but you turn away from the mounting wreckage around you. You focus on the little things, whispering to yourself that there is not much you can do—that you are only a drop in the ocean. You grow weaker, more fragile, yet you remain "at peace."

Then one day, this ocean becomes a toxic sludge. The world rages in war, the sun bursts in its longest maximum cycle, and the planet loses the ability to feed your grandchildren. They come to your house, destroy your village, and rape your family in front of you. Where is your Buddha now? Turns out, he was just like you—until the day he chose to climb to the top of a pyramid and start shooting. You were turning your back on the rage, the fire that burns inside you, inside everyone, and out there in the forests, the oil tankers, and the stars.

Today’s nawal represents the point where we can no longer keep it together—and that is valid. That is necessary. Storms exist because of this tension; this is the beginning of the climax. If you have ever raged, thrown things, shouted, or hit the walls, you weren't insane—you were balanced. You were human. You kept your fire alive. Being balanced sometimes means being completely unbalanced. Letting it all out, letting the "insanity" breathe, wanting to see the world burn—this is probably the most sane feeling there is. If you hide in a seashell, you are simply waiting to be crushed. Let the fire out today. Light one, smoke something, and let yourself be.

Peace without the capacity for destruction is just cowardice in a robe. True divinity isn't found in a quiet room; it’s found in the lightning strike that levels the forest so something new can grow. Don't just watch the storm—be the friction that starts it. Clear the air with your own thunder and stop apologizing for having a soul that can burn.

¡Aloha!
