Desire.
We are in the primordial snake, the first sequence that unfolds what is truly inside. It is the time to recognize the primordial, what's essential, to reconnect with what is truly inside, our feelings, our body, and to not fall pray to external impositions. Aligned with the planetary scenario of this time of the year and age, today is the day we must recognize what we truly desire. This recognition comes not from thought, but from meditation. Meditation allows for the inner silence to emerge and allow us to feel and recognize what our body wants, what it desires, and yes, it involves pleasure.
Consumerist spirituality challenges not the status quo and rather reinforces it, taking our strength away by teaching us to put up with whatever unpleasurable and unjust situation is upon us. It draws an image of a beautiful balanced word filled with plastic joy, when in fact we are in the grinding core of a destruction machine, witnessing how this civilization crumbles and takes as much living with it as it can, creating as much toxicity, illness, noise and pollution as it can. We might have a fast connection and a good resolution screen, subscriptions and many channels to watch, but we lack connection, sexual pleasure, freedom, time and the pleasure of being in our space and freedom with nature and true wealth.
Today we must listen to our desire and it will show us what is missing, even if we do have a lot. Modernly taught spirituality teaches us that desire is negative, that pleasure is sin, that it creates the negative cycle of lack as the pleasures are not met. This is a callow teaching because it is true only within an urban slave-master context where pleasure can run unnaturally unchecked (for the master); but in our context as true spirituality seekers it's incomplete and ineffectual because we are living earth bound creatures with desires and meeting them is not sin and is not wrong. Not being able to meet them is the effect of a denaturalized society, it's a product of artificial design of oppression, not of the sacred or of nature.
Today's nawal teaches us that true spirituality must be birthed from our natural right to meet our desires, our bodily needs, and when these are met, then there is no room for vice and degeneration. If we follow this teaching forward we will be led in the path of the medicine of wisdom, that is why you are here.
