The enemy
There's a funny confusion amongst students of the nawatl language and practitioners of their legacies, where the word yaotl gets translated as "warrior" when in fact it means "enemy." They are kind of in the same ballpark. An enemy is someone that definitely decides to be against someone else, for whatever reason, and embarks in actions that make him an enemy. To take these actions, they have to become a warrior and be willing to engage in conflict. We might idealize a world where this is no longer a thing, but it will always be there in some sort of way since it's part of the balance of the universe. The enemy resides in each one of us, and today is a good combination to speak about it, honor it and manifest it. Did you wake up wanting to fight? You might have.
In a dual universe where polarities define unity, nothing will ever be without being challenged, questioned. This principle of the reflection of consciousness, if not embraced properly, will manifest as the strengthening of the enemy archetypes like the saboteur, the addict, the vagabond, the whore, etc. The secret we have to share today is: listen to that enemy. In every resistance to the flow we encounter, there is something wise about it. If we learn to listen to the enemy inside us (and outside too), we will flow even better, and that enemy will be in peace, since it was allowed to participate. Listening means take into account what he thinks or says, not obey blindly.
To my eyes, most people listen far too well to their inner enemies, so much that they give in. In this sense they are no longer their enemies, but their main guides in life. This is what has led them down the road of systemic slavery and poverty, war and suffering, or at least unsatisfactory disease-ridden consumerism. Yesterday we awoke the hero, the accomplisher, the visionary eagle, that speaks of overcoming the enemies and reaching true freedom, justice, peace and joy. Today we encounter our first reaction, rejection, challenge, external or internal. How did you encounter the enemy today?
