The edge

Adaptation is amazing, the impossible seems to settle in and everything simply adapts to it. The limits are pushed, or forgotten, and we find ourselves flying over the edge. Today though we may get invited into landing to where there is solid ground, touching base, touching earth. Here we will find that so many things are trying to adapt, but we might want to make it a little less impossible for so, the body, the earth, the living, it does play with some "limits" and we might want to check what they are. Stay grounded, take care of the house, the body, is today's invitation. If we follow this advice then we might make tomorrow's jump into the void a walk down the cliff instead of a jump over it.

As for the realization of our dreams, the harvest of our fields, today is the day we discover the gopher's nest and the anthill that lie within our cornfield. We realize that we will not reap what we had sown, that things will not turn out exactly as we planned. Limits appear, and future losses become visible. This is an important lesson from the Trecena of the Star. Reaching the sun is not achieved without first crossing the canyon. Today invites us not to fall into the canyon and to prepare for future losses that may arise. Also, to ground our plans and ensure they are adapted to what can actually be produced. In the case of the cornfield, if we need more, we will have to plant another field or do something about the gopher and the anthill. We cannot count on achieving everything as we dreamed. Stardom is achieved only through hard work; it is not a gift from God.

Grounded.

Cursing comes not from a premeditated mindful state to take action, but is rather a way to get pain off your chest, when no smarter way is found to do so. One of the gifts that comes from the mistake of having cursed is, after the effect is suffered, a greater state of humility is achieved. This is the gift given by today's Lajuj N'oj nawal. If you followed the daily readings so far, then you might have gone without cursing. This is great, still, our heart asks itself why, we always explore the why's, never settling with just accepting what we are told.

In a flight of an eagle, this is the energy and the place where it decides to land. Today is that resting place and energy where our sight comes down to ground level and we understand what is truly within our reach. Even if we know we will continue flying, that will be tomorrow. For now we need to soothe ourselves and treat ourselves to some home, rest and being happy and plentiful with what we have, even if it's not much. In doing this comes a lesson, a gift, a strength that will provide for whatever flight comes next.

We might experience a situation where we are told the news that we won't be getting what we expected, not yet. We might walk by a mirror where we see we are not who we thought we were. Even then, this nawal is so kind, that we go through the lesson without cursing, without feeling anger, sadness or remorse. On the contrary a special kind of gratitude warms us from the inside. To achieve greatness, we must learn to be small. To enjoy abundance, we must learn to be happy in scarcity. Nothing can ever grow large if it's not well grounded in reality.

¡Aloha!
