The power of a link

Imagine, any information you want, can be stored in a site, and a link can take you to that information. The link hence contains all the information that is stored in the site that the link takes you to. Same with an image. Imagine all the information that can be extracted from a photo. How many centuries of time, how many beings and days were involved in making that which then is captured by the image. Does the image contain, in the ink or pixels, all that information?

It's simple to see that what we can see and touch, is only a link to a much broader dimension filled with information. It has been the mistake of the reductionist thinking to state that all is explained and expressed by means of the building blocks it's believed to be built of: atoms, cells, genes. Some of the information is stored there, sure, but the rest, is stored elsewhere.

One of my favorite musicians, more known as a poet, Vinicius de Morais once said "life is the art of encounter". We are here to link with one another, and the measure of our true fruits in life are those encounters, those links and relations we can create with others. In the relational world. we are only what we are to others, including ourselves. Beings creating links, making bonds, and holding chains, is what created life.
